LONDONER INSTAGRAM
Our first task for this project was to digitally prototype a few potential installation ideas, perform feasibility study on it as well as run an RND process in terms of the content creation pipeline needed to complete the entire project.
We used Unreal Engine on this project to visualize every single aspect of the installation. An accurate replica of the taxi model was made to scale - this was important to fully study sightlines and be able to have a believable VR prototype. Necessary adjustments are made based on the results found in the digital VR review process.
The experience inside the taxi is king, therefore accurate direct and indirect lighting bounces needed to be somewhat realistic. This is made with Unreal Engine.

DOME CONCEPT, AUSTRALIA
DMX LIGHTING & FOUNTAIN
Visualization of a Dome architecture, naturalistic amphitheatre as part of the landscaping, embedded hexagonal strip light programming, vertex edge LED shards, underwater light and fountain fixtures. The entire prototype runs realtime in unreal engine.
Borrowing the pixel map tech from the previous Hong Kong job, this dome previs was deployed and in a matter of minutes, fully functional with all of its light, fountain and water spout features working.

LIGHTING CONCEPT & VIS
We were tasked with a lighting design prototype and its visualization for a stage area in front of a shopping mall. We visualized a sequence of various lighting and laser fixtures, atmospherics, multi media surfaces as well as a programmable landscape design within its surrounding area.

AVENUE OF STARS, HONG KONG
FOUNTAIN SHOW
A conceptual project that started with a simple concept of a primitive sculpture emerging from the water surface, unveiling an unexpected audiovisual fountain show.
A revised version sees the fountain and light components squeezed into a much more compact form factor, featuring an embedded LED matrix, speakers, multiple fountain fixtures, LED strips and underwater lights.
I decided to create a rough version of the famous HK skyline and made an approximate volume of our working area which sits within the Avenue of Stars.
In this project I created my own highly inefficient RenderTarget based pixel lookup to emulate a DMX workflow. The result of the SceneCapture2D RT gets piped into both a UMG as well as a blueprint that holds all of the DMX based fixtures. The population of the fixture relied on accurate placement created in Maya, which then gets brought into UE4 as sockets. The blueprint then populates the respective fixtures and handles the light and fountain controls according to its real DMX channels.
With the help of another UE4 dev, Neil Van Vuuren ( who wrote his own UE4 DMX Artnet I/O implementation in C++ and ended up finishing this entire project all on his own ), I managed to hook up one of the DMX outputs from UE4 into a moving head light and control its properties via TouchOSC to set up an office party light.

MULTIMEDIA EXPERIENCE
ALONG A RIVER
We were tasked with visualizing a multimedia river experience in China. We mapped out the entire boat journey, presented in realtime cinematic as well as interactive format - this includes lighting and fountain design, boat construct design, cast choreography, bridge and landscaping design, projection mapping on dynamic surface and large mountainous landscape - just to mention a few.
